Music I like: Emily Hearn

Emily Hearn is refreshing, melodic, nostalgic, and her music carries me away to a better place.

I first heard Emily when my friend, Melissa Dodson was playing her Rooftop song one day in her office.
"Who is that?"
That's Emily Hearn, she's from Atlanta.
It was definitely a feel good moment that day.

Now she is trying to raise money for her new album on Kickstarter. I have pledged my $30 to her cause.
I am big on independent Artists.

I will leave you with one more.
since you will be seeing some of her stuff next month
on my annual Poem a Day in May (starts tomorrow!)

and that's life (and music) according to

Cool things this month so far

So I have been taking my time with this. I find this stuff then can't come up with anything to say about them and then they just sit there staring at me accusingly.
anyways....

So Frozen is all the rage right now and I found this really cool version of "Let it go" amongst all the parodies and it does stand out since it is such an awesome song.

So performance poetry is power in the spoken word. If you look you will find a lot of poignant prose/poetry that will speak of social, political and other injustice and potential action. These two young women are good examples of this kind of power to reach out and grab you and not let you go until you have heard what they have to say.

Sleeping Beauty was one of my first and thus one of my favorite fairy tales, it has been told and retold many times and only a few of those have done it much justice. Now Disney is seeking to retell the tale once more from a rather unexpected point of view. The trailer looks very cool. I will go see it when it comes out.

And while we are speaking of Awesome if you have not seen How to Train Your Dragon yet.
Then Toothless should eat you. The Sequel is coming and man it looks awesome.

On a different and really humorous note: this video is priceless and worth every laugh you should feel while watching it.
a Good change of pace for the unfriendly skies.

Back to Frozen because, well, because once wasn't enough. Now watch this and be astounded what a little warmth and compassion can bring.

I dedicate this one to the fans like Chris Hackett and Alan Burgess who will probably never read the books. Good reason too, no Bewbs in the books....well not as many nor as detailed
AND
If you like what that guy has to say. He sometimes moonlights at his othe job.

Lastly I will leave you with this little bit of Awesome.
Nothing is quite what you eyes and mind tell you they are.

Now there are feathers in my cup of tea.

and that is some of what made my month cool.

It's April and my favorite day but I am not laughing much

Sometimes there are just more important things to life than foolishness....
Fool others
don't fool yourself.
also don't lie to yourself.
made just don't lie.
Somethings are...worth fighting for.
others not so much.
Courage. Search for Courage sometime. You might just fin Malala.

You won't find this, although I suspect, Miley will have thought what she did was courageous.

In other News.
Heroes 4 Higher

So there you have some good news for today. It's old but still good.

Do something with your life.
Something good.

if not...then teach-
Klingon.

And that life According to Mike!
