It's Time for Cool things I saw this week.

Sometimes I will go with denial since if I stopped long enough to reconsider it I would just end up being depressed.
So, away go!
Well I want to be and in those moments between life and madness I feel happy.
I don't usually drink beer, but when I do, I cannonball hot tubs first.

It's great when amateurs can show us something we don't usually get to experience.

Well that wraps up my cool things (mostly because I need to get this down)

and yes, that's life according to Mike!

Cool things this week

So, here we are back again after another exhausting but exhilarating week and I am going to fall back on my new favorite thing to share: Cool Things. Let's get it started!

1. The video that changed Ash Wednesday (for me)
I compiled, remixed and edited this series of actual spacewalking footage for a sermon for St. John's Cathedral for Ash Wednesday. You can find the sermon here:

2. Drifting. Trikes, I had my doubts but this is cool plus awesome music make for one awesome video.

This makes me think of Sugar Ray for some reason.

3. Awesome Nerdity (if that isn't a word- it is now, say it with me "nerdity")

Every bit of my inner nerd said hell yeah in my most unnerd (another new word I will probably never use again or at least until I take up geek dating again) Pro Wrestler Stone Cold impression.

4. My boss (The Ruff) had me pull this one for him and with good reason. It's going down in my book as my all time fav Oscar acceptance/thank you speech (of which I think I have now seen 6)
in case you don't watch it - that's Matthew McConaughey and his hero speech.

5. Music I listened to this week which spoke to me.
    Iggy Pop  Starry Night (Grooveshark)
Sometimes, you just have to say who F***ing cares, just dance and sing

Great Big World There is an Answer (Grooveshark)
I need to have this kind of hope sometimes
I want to float out into nothing and leave this world behind.
I want to trip the light fantastic and take a vacation from my mind
I want to remember that there is this creation so beautiful beyond my fears
I want to feel the music pass through me and hear the laughter through my tears.
Dire Straits Romeo And Juliet (Grooveshark)
A lovestruck Romeo sings to the street a serenade
with a song that sticks in my head and won't go away
and I find myself singing over and over again
because it is just that good.

I am supporting him as I am meeting his challenge.

7. (if you have to ask. you obviously have no idea how you ended up here and I am not going to tell you....get over it)

And there you have it.

So Life has been...

BUSY
Which is one way to put it. Too many projects going on and on.
So what have I been doing?
Well since you didn't ask (and probably won't)
1. Installing Luan over 6 and 3.5 mil plastic sheeting.
Woot! only took $135 and 2 weeks of work. 7 splinters and a
    great deal of cursing.

this is not me, since I am way bigger and better looking than this.

2.  Creating videos like this:

I totally took other peoples work and edited it down into something awesome. sadly it took almost as much time figuring out how to embed it in this blog.

3. Working over the Art Potry Art project. Trying to recruit artists and keep the one's I have. Take a look, I have three things up.
     Crows

4. Writing other blogs (or trying to)

5. Putting up Insulation. like this.

this is not me either. It was not a candid moment
imagine, if you will, lying on your back, in a noxious environment, with a face mask, goggles, hat, tee shirt wrapped around your head and really rocky ground under 6 mil of plastic beneath you.

6. Got a new TV, trying to sell the old one (cheap!) and waited almost 3 weeks to mount it only to discover the mount was not compatible.
Replacing 32" Panasonic viera LCD TV.
$130! what a bargain. I even have a free, yes I said free wall mount (mostly because I have no clue where the stand is)

I bought this to replace it.
47" LG GA6400 Google TV
I spent my life saving on it.
My mother asks me why I would want a bigger TV and I said.
Well, Mom, I got a great reason and I am going to tell you them as soon as- is that a purple crested woodfinch pecking a Squirrel?
Then I left to work on a better, sounder reason why I as a 44 year old employed man needs to explain himself to his mother.
Probably, also to look what's left of my self esteem.
(* I made all that up because it sounds better than the truth).

7. (because I like 7) Then I decided to mount the TV on the wall.
and since I like to be careful, I located a mount for the LG TV made by LG which turned out to not be made for my LG TV.
So return shipping and off to find one locally.

That's not everything. but it's most everything.
and that is life on Sunday
